Two days ago (on wed), I decided to start counting how many calories I consume daily on my regular eating habits. I’ve been curious about how many I eat daily (mostly to make sure I am getting enough) but never wanted to put the effort to count because it doesn’t matter and it takes too much effort for me. But, I just decided to do it anyway. I originally wanted to do it by hand, but then thought about trying out myfitnesspal so I could put it all in by my phone. But, I didn’t like how the site worked so I deleted it. That night, the dinner I had made it more complicated for me to do it on my own (veggie pizza - not homemade) so I decided to remake the account from my phone.
Put aside how the website works as a whole (because there are aspects of it that I don’t like, that don’t work for me, and that aren’t relevant to me), I have come to specifically like the fats and protein part. I have found that I am definitely getting enough calories, even despite the few things I’ve eaten in the last few days that are small and full of calories (and uhh not all that healthy). Today, I haven’t eaten anything bad, and am at about 1,300 calories so far and the website recommends I eat 1,780 daily (though I don’t go by that, I eat however many are in the foods I choose to eat - the foods I eat are usually healthy anyway), and that’s so easy to do, especially since I still have dinner to eat.
But like I said, I mostly like the part where it tells me how much fat and protein I’ve had so I know if I need to work on getting more of that. It’s really just interesting to see how much of everything I’ve had. Even the carbs- I don’t particularly care how many I eat but I guess I eat a lot… or compared to what myfitnesspal says I should eat but not sure why that’s the recommended amount. Either way, don’t care. I thought that since I eat a lot healthier than I used to, it’d be harder for me to get enough calories, but it’s really easy. And now comparing what I eat now to the way I used to eat in 9th-11th grade (and before that, but I pretty much ate crap my entire life)… I must have been eating close to 3,000 calories a day, maybe. I ate a lot of frozen pizzas, hot pockets, cookies, chips, energy drinks, stupid gross boxed pasta and hamburger helper, lots of capri suns, lots of sweets. I ate like a typical teen I guess you could say.
This might sound weird… but even though it’s a hassle and annoying to have to count everything I eat rather than just tracking what I eat like usual, it’s kind of interesting/entertaining to see what I’ve eaten at the end of the day. I’m not going to turn into some wacko who counts everything (I’m not calling those of you who DO count calories a wacko for weight loss (of course), but I’m doing it for fun and obviously not specifically trying to alter my weight so I’d be a wacko for counting at my weight, especially - you got that, right? ha).
This all probably really does sound weird. Oh well, haha. Really though, do I sound stupid? You don’t have to answer, I know I do. I feel weird. Like goofy-weird… Uhmmm okay whatever, hah. Yeah, probably gonna delete this later, maybe. haha. Uh have a nice day (:
