Blueberry Banana Almond Flax Seed Smoothie! 100% Vegan!

undressedskeleton:

In 8 days I am going to be eating a completely vegan diet for 30 days. I have been doing tons of research and constantly looking at ingredients to work with. I’ve been very cautious and looking at all the labels and praying I don’t miss a thing. If you see me use a “non-vegan” ingredient please let me know! This is VERY new to me so your help is greatly needed.

This morning I decided to have a smoothie but instead of adding sugar (which is surprisingly not vegan or vegetarian) and yogurt I used almond milk and Truvia to give it a creamy flavor.

Ingredients:

  • 1 Packet Truvia
  • 1/2 Small Banana
  • 1/4 Cup Blueberries
  • 1 Tbsp Raw Almonds
  • 2 Tbsp Flax Seed
  • 1/4 Cup Unsweetened Almond Milk
  • 4-5 Large Ice Cubes (Add more if you need to)
Blend on High!

This was actually one of the BEST tasting smoothies I have ever had.

Adding neutral vegetables like spinach, cucumber, or lettuce to a smoothie is an easy way to meet my goal of having veggies at every meal.

I made this today. Last night I sliced 3 bananas and stuck them in the freezer so I could make a banana shake today. Add as many strawberries as you want, and add more bananas or less juice to play around with thickness. It’s a good mix with juice, too. I need to make a chocolate banana shake soon!

WHAT. When I was little, I used to pretend to be like Popeye and I winked a lot and always ate spinach to be like him (not sure if it was canned). Funny how now I always eat lots of fresh spinach.

Strawberry blonde smoothie

Works best with frozen strawberries. I hate ice in smoothies.

Refreshing.

muffintop-less:

Protein Mocha “Frappuccino”

  • 1 Scoop coffee or chocolate flavored protein powder
  • 1 packet instant coffee grounds
  • 1 cup unsweetened chocolate almond milk (you could also use coffee)
  • 1 tablespoon unsweetened baking cocoa (optional)
  • 1 cup ice

Blend and enjoy! =)

This looks so good. I’d try to use decaf because caffeine gives me headache and the jitters. It’d be good for a post-workout during the warm days, too.
