Blueberry Banana Almond Flax Seed Smoothie! 100% Vegan!

In 8 days I am going to be eating a completely vegan diet for 30 days. I have been doing tons of research and constantly looking at ingredients to work with. I’ve been very cautious and looking at all the labels and praying I don’t miss a thing. If you see me use a “non-vegan” ingredient please let me know! This is VERY new to me so your help is greatly needed.  

This morning I decided to have a smoothie but instead of adding sugar (which is surprisingly not vegan or vegetarian) and yogurt I used almond milk and Truvia to give it a creamy flavor. 

Ingredients:

  • 1 Packet Truvia
  • 1/2 Small Banana 
  • 1/4 Cup Blueberries
  • 1 Tbsp Raw Almonds
  • 2 Tbsp Flax Seed
  • 1/4 Cup Unsweetened Almond Milk
  • 4-5 Large Ice Cubes (Add more if you need to)
Blend on High!

This was actually one of the BEST tasting smoothies I have ever had.

I had a fruit platter for lunch today. All of my favorite fruits, just missing kiwi. I still have one slice of watermelon and a few strawberries left because my stomach got too full. Light and simple.

Today I wanted vegan french toast for lunch but I was out of almond milk and decided to whip out the ol blades and skate there since I didn’t have the car, or a bike. It was a 2 mile, 25 minute ride. Some of it was uphill, 90 degrees outside, cloudy, and it started to sprinkle big rain drops as I went out so that was nice.

And I got a ride back home so I didn’t have to put them back on after I left the store. I didn’t fall once, which is great considering I’ve put these things on twice in maybe the last 5 years. I used to skate a ton and skated better backwards than I did frontwards haha.

Went to the beach yesterday. It was windy and 70 degrees there so it was not very warm. I had the goose bumps for a while haha. Next time I’m going to bring a heapful of fruits and real silverware lql. The photos enlarge if you click them.

Make your own vitamin water. Add fruits instead of sugar for a natural sweetener for your H2O ♥

Cut the fruit into paper-thin slices or small chunks. Combine ingredients with water. Refrigerate 4-6 hours. Serve over ice

I made this today. Last night I sliced 3 bananas and stuck them in the freezer so I could make a banana shake today. Add as many strawberries as you want, and add more bananas or less juice to play around with thickness. It’s a good mix with juice, too. I need to make a chocolate banana shake soon!
